Three Weeks…

The Countdown Continues….

… And my life continues to be something I don’t always recognize. For instance, seeing my book on Goodreads. I mean, really? How is that even possible? Along with them changing my profile to an author one.

Me? An author? When did that happen?

I told a friend last week, “If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me up.”

The picture you see to the right is a promotional pic from Susie, my editor/cover artist/formatter, at Poole Publishing. When she originally sent pictures of covers for me to pick from, this was in the running. Obviously I chose something else, but I loved all the covers from the beginning. There is a significant scene with a bonfire, so looking at this reminds me of that. When she sent me the promos, I knew I’d be using this one somewhere.

Not quite sure I’d be publishing if I hadn’t come across her name from another writer. While my first editor, Katie McCoach, brilliantly taught me to see the story differently and ask the hard questions, Susie has made the process something achievable. Suddenly, a world opened up to me that I never thought I’d be a part of. If that sounds dramatic, it is. If you were surprised to find out I was publishing a book, SO WAS I!

I’m not just saying this either. As long as I’ve been a writer and have wanted to be published, there was a little voice in the back of my head that said, “Yeah, right. Maybe someday.” I’m not sure I ever believed I would ever have the guts to put this out there.

After having my son’s friend read a passage to me last week, I’m still not so sure… and yet it’s three weeks away.

This is really happening.

I hope you’re not sick of me by then 🙂

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you have something good picked out for the weekend. I just finished The Stolen Marriage by Diane Chamberlain and LOVED it.

Happy Reading,

xo,Mo
